Solaris Energy is seeking an in-house attorney to join our growing businesses developing, acquiring, constructing, owning, operating, and selling distributed solar and solar plus storage projects throughout the United States.


General council will support the Solaris Energy team to structure, draft and negotiate documents required to develop and close solar and solar + storage projects and advise on general corporate matters including corporate entity structure and management, compliance, and corporate policies.



  • Structure, draft, review, and assist team in negotiating power purchase agreements, engineering, procurement and construction contracts, and membership interest purchase and sale agreements.

  • Perform diligence and provide diligence guidance to development team regarding project development, acquisition and sales.

  • Provide general legal support to finance, business development, construction, and operations teams in the deployment of solar and solar plus storage projects.

  • Structure, draft, review, and assist team in negotiating various real estate agreements including estoppels, notices, amendments, SNDAs, regulatory filings, and title curative documentation.

  • Effectively and efficiently organize project documentation, maintain virtual data room and manage project closings.

  • Work closely with team to develop and implement improvements to contracting processes and tools, including a suite of regularly updated template documents.

  • Provide general legal counsel and strategic guidance to senior and executive level management.

  • Effectively and efficiently engage and manage outside counsel.

  • Knowledge of debt and equity financing structures, including portfolio financing structures, back-leverage debt, and tax equity partnership documents preferred.


We are seeking an attorney with at least three to four years of renewable energy development experience. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with solar and solar plus storage project development and transactions involving financing, acquisitions, and sale of solar and solar plus storage projects. Candidates should have superior drafting and negotiation skills, the ability to take on significant responsibility and manage a challenging workload within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Candidates should also be diligent, detail- oriented, proactive, supportive, and team-oriented.

  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under tight timelines.

One day per week in the office may be required. May occasionally be requested to travel nationally    


This position consists of primarily computer and administrative work, however, may occasionally require site visits at commercial properties.

  • Ability to use computers and look at monitors for up to 8 hours per day
